You may not be aware or you may have forgotten but the avocado is a fruit, and they are also known as Alligator Pears
I think the avocado is pretty amazing - like melons if you cut their outer skin just right it doubles as a bowl that you can spoon out its meat and eat it like ice cream. The skin by itself reminds me of armadillo hide and pale greenish yellowish insides have a thick and creamy consistency of butter... Avocados can be seriously tasty and btw I don't go around singing the praises of many fruits (besides the tomato.. of course). I like the avocado so much I am growing two avocado trees from the seeds of a ginormous variety of avocado grown in the Dominican Republic. These trees are said to grow as tall as 60 feet, mine are a mere3 feet tall, so I have a while before I have to deal with the height issue. I will eventually have to choose between cutting a hole in my roof or cutting down my precious avocado trees...until then I have pair of Alligator Pear trees growing in my house.. until we out grow each other.

Notes, notes, and yes, I might be crazy
![]() | |
Summer is nearing a close - our movie Toy Room premiered in Portland with great success. Stepping away from the red carpet (lol) something has been on my mind. I recently read somewhere that said I am crazy and was swiftly told it is a compliment for an artist to be called crazy http://www.wisegeek.com/are-the-best-artists-all-crazy.htm. Yet I say to those who that point their bony reaper-like writing finger and keyboard that an artist is "crazy", what decade were you born in? If you really want to hurt someone can't you find another way to make your point? Here let me help you ... how about, she is:
- A few bricks short of a load
- Five cans short of a six-pack
- Not firing on all cylinders
- An olive short of a pizza
- Four quarters short of a dollar
Calling someone crazy in a joking fun way is harmless but using the term to hurt or label someone... well as I showed above there are more creative ways to do it or just don't.
