Another member of the fruit family...Alligator Pears

You may not be aware or you may have forgotten but the avocado is a fruit, and they are also known as Alligator Pears

I think the avocado is pretty amazing - like melons if you cut their outer skin just right it doubles as a bowl that you can spoon out its meat and eat it like ice cream. The skin by itself reminds me of armadillo hide and pale greenish yellowish insides have a thick and creamy consistency of butter... Avocados can be seriously tasty and btw I don't go around singing the praises of many fruits (besides the tomato.. of course). I like the avocado so much I am growing two avocado trees from the seeds of a ginormous variety of avocado grown in the Dominican Republic. These trees are said to grow as tall as 60 feet, mine are a mere3 feet tall, so I have a while before I have to deal with the height issue. I will eventually have to choose between cutting a hole in my roof or cutting down my precious avocado trees...until then I have pair of Alligator Pear trees growing in my house.. until we out grow each other.
